Changing the water pump on your 4.0L

As my faithful XJ has grown older over the years, it’s started to show signs of its age (and probably the results of all the trail use it’s seen). The radiator has been replaced, the exhaust manifold cracked and was replaced, the power windows and locks are slowing, and most recently, the water pump started […]

Custom4x4Fabrication’s doube-tube XJ rocker guards

Article by Patrick Brown Rocker guards are one of the “necessary” upgrades for an XJ that plans to spend any time offroad, particulary around rocks. Living in Colorado, I spend my share of time on rocky trails and get nervous at the site of large rocks in my path that are hoping to eat my […]

4x4mods.com colored gauge overlay kit

The instructions that 4x4mods.com includes with their gauge overlay kits are probably the best I’ve ever seen. They’re detailed, they’ve got full color photos… They’re so good that I hadn’t planned to do a write-up on the kit because there really wasn’t much I could go over than they didn’t already cover. DPG Adjustable XJ Bumpstop Plates

Installation date: 9/14/03 I know what some of you are thinking, “bumpstops? why would I want extended bumpstops? I don’t need bumpstops…” I know because I used to think that same way. Rubicon Express 5.5″ Extreme Duty XJ kit

What really sets the RE kit apart from other standard short-arm lifts is control arm drop bracket kit. These brackets lower the upper and lower control arms about 4″, lessening their angles and resulting in greatly improved ride and handling both on and offroad.

John M’s Zebra ZJ

When John sent me some pics of his Zebra ZJ, I knew I had to feature it on Jeepin.com. Here’s what John has to say about his jaw-dropping rig…

33-Engineering’s 5.25″ TJ dash speaker plates

In our quest to upgrade out TJ’s sound system without spending big bucks, we decided the cheezy factory 4×6’s in the dash had to go. We’d originally planned to put in a set of Boston Acoustics 4×6’s until I stumbled across the first offering from 33-Engineering (OffroadToyStore’s fabrication division) — 5.25″ speaker adapter plates for […]

DPG Swaybar Disco Cables

Installation date: 6/15/03 JKS swaybar disconnects are in my opinion the best disconnects you can get, the only problem is if you’ve got an XJ, they don’t come with any good way to secure them up and out of the way once you disconnect to go wheelin’. For TJ’s JKS includes some retainer studs that […]
