Mopar Underground Jeep “Grand Canyon II”

The Jeep “Grand Canyon II” is the most luxurious off-road vehicle built to date by the Mopar Underground Team. The objective for the team was to take a top-of-the-line 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland and ready it for serious off-road action.

To improve traction for rock crawling, a set of 285/70R17 tires were mounted on a set of Wrangler Rubicon wheels and fitted with a Superlift 4-inch suspension system. Off-road protection was provided with an ARB high-clearance front bumper and Mopar heavy-duty rock rails.

The already well-appointed Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland interior was prepped for severe duty with the addition of Mopar accessories front and rear slush mats, cargo liner and stainless-steel sill plates.

Wow, now this is one sick Grand Cherokee.
My Wrangler is paid off, getting married end of the month and been thinking about getting a “family” vehicle.
Love the Grand Cherokees but this one takes the cake!
Perhaps with the persuasion with the future wife I can build one of these in the near future!!

I have a 2008 grand cherokee overland (identical looking to the one above before the altercations), and I wanted to lift it 4 inches but i was told by the shop that doing this causes major shaking at highway speeds because of its all time all wheel drive. Does anyone know about this? Or know about how the jeep grand cherokee overland can be lifted past 2″ without this? I’m pretty sure the jeep shown above (although it looks badass) would handle like shit.

REALLY.! I mean REALLY the sickest jeep you guys gotta get out more. I mean it’s cool but the sickest go to some jeep shows cuz or clubs. The jeep is nice but the wheels look like stock s10 blazer wheels and a lift kit so what. Put some DICK CEPEK ETC. WITH 20s or 22s and a roof rack with full size spare some off-road lights then maybe the term SICK CAN BE USED. and for the newlywed buy your in title to so mistake in the beginning so mays as we’ll be a bad ass jeep.

Geoff look into 2in lift plus a 2in body lift if possible there’s your four with sacrifice to your suspension. I have a 07 GCL

MIGHT DUE THE SAME TO MY JEEP ONE DAY . BUT RITE KNOW TO MANY OTHER PROJECTS A HEAD OFF THE JEEP.

Without sacrifice to your suspension. Sorry late nite

Wilson, are you for real? You’re talking trash about this nice GC and your idea is to put 20 or 22″ rims on and then it would be a Bad Ass Jeep?
You realize that using a 20″ rim with 33-35″ tires would give you about ZERO sidewall. And with zero sidewall when you air down your tires for better traction you’ll beat the crap out of the aluminum rims you just had to have because you didn’t like the great looking practical rims that came with the Jeep.

And then let us talk about lift. You cannot do a body lift as this vehicle has a unibody. If you knew anything about Jeeps you’d know this as it is pretty standard for most of their SUV type rig other than the Wrangler. The front is also IFS so that is going to limit the amount of lift you can raise your Jeep. To be honest the easiest way to fix this is to do a solid axle swap in the front.

Have a nice day and keep the dirty side down.
