Cool

today me, mxjeepin, and 3 of my other friends went down to Carova in the outer banks in NC. Thought I might share some pics. I'll be getting better ones up later.

The vid:
http://cherokee.groundclearance.com/video.wmv

Left to Right: mxjeepin, me, my friend brett.

There sure was alot of puddles down there from the recent rain:

Brett doing a nasty water crossing, we thought he was gonna hydrolock

I broke my record for stucks in a day. 4 stucks in a day It wasn't in mud though, it was sand that I got stuck in. We hit real soft part of the beach and my XJ decided it wanted to get down and play in the sand. Thanks for towing me out Danny!

I made it back down the beach prerunner style, I hauled *** down the beach. We would hit small hills and the cooler of drinks would fly up and hit the cieling.

Looks like yall had some fun.

I've never taken my XJ in the sand. I'm scared she will suck the sand up.

XJs love sand. Unless you have some skinny arse tires you shouldn't have a problem. Let's just say my XJ on 31s made my friend's F-150 on 35s with a 302 look silly. He got owned. Just keep it in 4wd to stay on top of the sand(although I played a lot in 2wd) and you won't have any issues. They're light enough that you'll do fine unless you're a complete idiot

Pretty cool vid. No offense or anything, but that's the type of stuff I used to get a kick out off when I first started wheelin. I've since been through stuff I never thought I would touch and now I like to push the limits a lot more. I'm not really sure what the point of saying that was...cuz I know your XJ is still 2wd. But for a 2wd it does just fine. And I would tell your friend in the Jimmy to take it easy. You gotta keep your wheel speed in mud, but bombing water holes is an easy way to hydrolock. You're better off needing a tow out than a new motor. I lucked out makin it through this hole with 2" of water over my hood(XJs have a pretty good intake setup), but Jeepnski went too fast(he tends to do that into water holes). It wasn't that deep, but he sucked in about a quart of water. This is him broken down in the hole, but he had enough momentum to get out of the deep part, so it doesn't look as bad as it really is. Anyway, this is what happens with too much speed

One broken connecting rod, one blown head gasket, 2 holes in the oil pan, possiblte cracked block(not too sure on that one)

Not good

Damn, when that rock song came on the vid I thought you were going to be bombing through holes and launching off sand dunes! Oh well, as long as you have fun that's all that matters.

yeah, the footage on my camera wasn't too intense. My friend brett had a camera with him and he got some pretty good shots, so hopefully he will let me borrow his tape soon.

When we were going down thr beach this stock XJ full of girls came flying past us, and started doing dounuts up the beach. We pulled along side them and gave em the thumbs up. I'm pretty sure I have that footage on the other camera. Also, you didn't see any footage of my jeep going through anything, becasue in that video my camera was inside my XJ.

Got to love Corova, only place I know where the only patch of pavement is the pad in front of the fire house. I have a few cool pictures myself if some one can host a few.
