Default IFS vs. Solid Front Axle

You know that pic that shows a truck trying an obstacle with IFS hanging a tire in the air and then the same truck with a solid axle on the same obstacle with both tires on the ground??? Anyone know where I can find that?? I searched a bunch, no luck. Thanx.

I've never really understood that picture. All it shows is that the XJ is flexing a little more... but without enough flex to actually touch the ground, it's not getting any more traction than the Liberty.

True, though the XJ is obviously in a more stable position regardless of tires in contact with the ground. That said, the XJ is obviously more built than the KJ, so its not a good apples to apples comparison.

IFS without a doubt has its place in the offroad world, its just substantially more expensive and time comsuming to build (correctly) and is only really advantageous at speeds that most rigs will not, and in many cases should not see.

My Audi stays planted rather well with the front swaybar off.

Yeah, that pic isn't the one....

I was looking for one with I think a taco, or maybe it was a ranger? The first pic had IFS and a tire in the air, the second pic was the same rig with a solid axle swapped in, and both tires are on the ground.

I think I know what you're talking about. I was thinking it was a 4Runner.

*******!! I searched high and low for like 20 minutes and couldn't come up with anything other than discussions and SFA swaps.
