any thoughts? saw one the other day that had the 360 and obviously the d44's that i liked. thinkin abt sellin the xj and buyin the waggy for offroadin and huntin as well as something better on gas, a 4 banger something for drivin to school and around home. all opinions and pics appreciated.
edit: not sure the year, i just saw it for a few minutes and the guy said that he couldnt remember the year but he knew that it had the 360 and the d44's |

the grd waggy would be for 80% offroad and i wouldn't dd it so i would be able to work on it w/o having to worry abt what i will drive tomorrow like w/ the xj. thats why id get a 4banger something (maybe 5spd s-10) to drive to school. the xj is workin on me w/gas. |

I think all waggys are ugly, but at the same time their also beastly lookin. If your buying a daily driver, either keep the XJ and build it more, or sell the xj and build the FSJ. That 360 is a decent motor and I imagine you wouldnt have too much problems with the 44, depends on your desired tire size. I dont know. I can t really tell you how to spend your money. Ive reached the point were I see just the plain ole cars and then all the vehicles that could be sweet off road rigs. FSJ has a better platform than the XJ. XJ is not as big and bulky and easier to navigate threw tight trails. Both have there pros and cons thats for you to decied. What fits your needs better. I like both options...would be a difficult desicion if i were in your shoes.

the posted pic is probably what id be going for, though not chopped quite yet as i have limited time and no experience in that arena. tight trails wouldn't be much of a problem bc i plan on beatin on it pretty hard and dents and scratches on it wouldn't bother me. i would just feel more comfortable givin something old like that hell since it wouldnt be my dd like my xj is. if i fukk somethin up on my xj as it is, im SOL bc its all i have to drive. i can pick up the waggy and a 4 banger and do a few mods to the waggy with the money i can sell my xj for plus a little dough i have pidgeoned away in the bank. as i said my biggest reason is wanting to have something i can pound on during the weekend and still have something to drive to school on come sunday night. thanks for all the input guys and if anyone has anymore pics and a list of mods done to a waggy id like to see them

But as for why he did it instead of lengthening the wheelbase, for one he got tired of slamming the rear end when going down dropoffs. And two, he has a hard enough time squeezing it around tight turns on alot of the wooded trails we run, so making the wheelbase longer wouldn't make much sense. EDIT: Forgot to mention the time and money part. For how he did it, it probably cost him zero to just a little cash and 2 weekends.
