Default Disc brakes on a Chryco 8.25?

I know somebody's bound to have done it! Is there a kit or do I need parts from a donor vehicle? And what about the "E" brake, will I still be able to use it?

I don't want to swap the whole axle for a 8.8 or whatever because everything in mine is new.

I haven't done it, but I've seen discs on a 8.25 under a liberty, might be something to check out.

TSM makes a kit to convert an 8.25 to discs. IIRC, either 8.8 or ZJ discs will fit on an 8.25 with little to no modification.

Or follow the less beaten path and source parts to fit.

I used '90 Isuzu Trooper rear calipers (have intergrated cable e-brake) with Suzuki Samuri front rotors (matched the bolt pattern on my 9", those rotors could be redrilled for 5 on 4.5 easy).

This should get you started. I have all the parts for mine, just trying to find the time to do it.

search this board and NAXJA, not difficult to do, the e-brake takes a little work. I have done it, as had Timmay and Lisk on this board.

one ebrake option are some Wilwood Spot calipers, essentially tiny mechanical calipers you bolt on and run. I guess they are fairly cheap and a legal replacement for a e-brake.
