Default Engine code: need some consultation.....

1996 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4.0L

Its been having some problems at low idle, like when I press on the gas, it hickups then goes...

Today, I get a harsh knocking from the engine (not a lifter, I KNOW what that sounds like). I then get a code 27 (or 28, not sure, lost count). Google'd it...

This is what a get...

27 Fault in injector driver interface circuit.

Any feedback?

Thanks all

No, it runs fine execpt it starts to hick up a bit when you are at driving, and let off the gas (like to let it at idel) and then apply.. but thats it...

And it did that for a good 200 miles before I added the gas cleaner and fixed the temp sensor...

My wife is right... sell it and take the TJ.....

Injector driver circuit is electrical related....... not fuel delivery. You need to get a schamatic (sp?) and trace the "driver circuit" form the injectors to where ever it goes probably the PCM. You probably have a wire that has rubbed through or has corroded inturnaly because the incelation got nicked some how. Visiuaily inspect the harness see if you can see any obvious damage to any of the wires.

when was the last time the coolant temperature sensor was replaced. it helps control fuel/air ratios.
