Default Yoke interchangeability

I'm collecting all the crap that's going in my toolbox/harddeck, and I'm trying to figure out what spares I still need to buy... so here's a rather stupid question: Could the pinion yokes from an C8.25 and D30 be interchanged in a pinch? I know they're different lengths, but I can't remember if the spline count/shaft dia. is different. It sucks that all 4 yokes are different...

Spare Yokes? How about limp off taking easy lines and bypasses and fix it when you're home? I think the front shafts/u-joints will fail first, and the rear shafts.

WHat kinda spare are you going to be carrying, if you're looking for spare yokes?

I've seen yokes damaged when a driveshaft u-joint blows and shaft hits the yoke. I carry a spare yoke, but it's mainly because we had leftover yokes from previous work on our axles.

Well, that's the whole point, I won't have to carry a spare if I can just yank the one off the front.... and I'm more concerned about breaking a strap bolt than the yoke itself (or if it's part of a larger catastrophic failure).

In that case, just get yourself an easy-out kit and carry spare straps and bolts.

That's exactly what I did on our TJ when I regeared it. Replaced the stock yokes front and rear with u-bolt yokes, and stuck one of the strap yokes in the tool box for a spare.

I'd thought about that, but I'm not sure there exists u-bolt yokes for the C8.25 as it's not a Spicer axle.

And a drill/drill bits? No thanks. A spare yoke is probably cheaper and certainly much easier than all that mess.
