Run a 32. If you just want it to look nice, run a 32" tire.

I run an RE 4.5" kit and 32's. I definately had rubbing. could have been my backspacing of my rims though. I think they are 4" backspacing but I can't remember off the top of my head. I probably needed some extra pucks in there too.
I'm going up to 33's and I'll probably have to trim the front more.

I know a friend that was running 33's on a 4.5" and he did rub at times because he didn't trim at all. If you were to trim your fenders it is possibly but if you would rather have it look nice, 32's will be sufficient enough.

tell me this guys, if i can run a bfg m/t 32/11.5/15 without any problems on a 8in wheel, why couldnt i run a 33/10.5/15 on a 8in wheel without rubbing? its just a inch taller , no wider. i really need to know what tire to go with so i can get this ball a rollin. also if i was to go with 33's and it rubbed could i order a spacer kit for cheap form someone to get another inch to clear them? 98 cherokee

I'd say go with the 33x10.50 on a 15x7 wheel w/ 4.5"-4.75" BS. My guess is that with a narrower tire/wheel, you're gonna rub less even if it is taller. You can also cut the insides out of the flares and it'll still look stock (I did that with my 31's), and add bumpstops if you find it's rubbing too much.

well you can cut your fenders and have it look nice too, atlest in my eyes i like the look of the flareless XJ.

You are gonna need to trim with 33's I know 1" doesn't sound like alot but it is. Trimming is pretty easy. Do a search here. There are all kinds of posts about doing it. Here is a pic of mine sitting on about 5" lift and my 30's at the time:
![]() My fenders are trimmed both front and rear and I still retained my stock flares. Look at the bottom of the front wheel well. Mind you those are 30's and still not alot of wiggle room. Backspacing will help for control arm rub when turning but not for flex. Only trimming and bump stops is going to help you there. BTW, mine is a 98 as well. Hope this sheds a little light.
