Lately when I accelerate from a stop light (2wd) I can feel something sliping. It seems more like play in the front driveshaft or in between the ring and pinion. It makes a knocking sound when it "engadges". I can feel play in the slip yoke in the front driveshaft but it only makes the noise when I'm in 2wd. And it was stuck in a mud hole for a couple of days up to the body awhile back. I've heard of some people having trouble with transmission sliping. What do you guys think?

Tranny fluid is a good start, but the play in the driveshaft is peculiar....hmmm...

def. check your fluid, go ahead and drop the tranny pan and put on a new filter...
as for the sound in the front driveline...could be u-joint...could be something actually in the t-case and sounds like it is...I would suggest draining that out and replaceing that...after a couple of hours of sitting in mud and water...that stuff finds everyway to get into seals and cracks...
