slight vibes, loose drag link

my steering system is a little woobly (made that word up) and it's giving me small shakes at most speeds. the problem is centrally located around where the drag link connects to the adjuster collar. i've tightened the collar down several times, but it's still loose. would it hurt to take of the collar and see what's going on? obviously, i'll mark where everything was with white-out or some other stuff and try to get it as close to where it was origionally.

if it turns out the problem is with the drag link, is there an easy method of fixing it that won't require me to completely replace the drag link?

edit: it's for a 95 v8 zj.

Seems to be alot of tie rod problems lately!

It pays for itself, not that expensive,$100 or so!

i'm already there, mine's a v8 zj [img]icon_smile_wink.gif[/img] . i guess i should put that back in my sig, or at least in this topic.

i had tie-rod problems a while back (now fixed), but my drag link is the culprit for this current ailment. i'd really hate for my steering to explode when i'm driving down the highway.
