I'm lifting my 99 xj, and can't seem to get the front coil springs off, even when I disconnect the stabilizer bar and LCA, I can't drop the axle enough. Is a coil compressor the only option I have?

If you have disconnected the control arms, the sway bar, and the track bar you should have more then enough room to get springs off and on without a spring-compressor

If your swaybar (stabilizer bar) is completely disconected as well as your LCA and you still can't get it out, you may want to just pull the Upper Control arm as well. After that, your axle is pretty much free floating aside from the driveline and a stock coil should pop out no problem.
Also, don't forget to loosten the coil retainer tab on the bottom, inner of the coil pad. I would try that before going with a compressor.

take off the tars, disconnect the swaybar, shocks on both sides, and the lca on the side yer changing, and with the front end on jack stands just behind the lca brackets, either have a buddy stand on the end of the axle(best method) or carefully jack up the other side until you have enough room. used this method on a 90' and a 98' xj, and a 00' tj so it should work for you.

The instructions from RE didn't say anything about disconnecting anything if you're using a compressor..I dropped the lca out of frustration.
And yes, the coild tab has been removed.
