Question

what's everyones opinions on the new (at least new to me) Titanium tube bumpers? You can get a look at them from quadratec.com. The right side of the home page under cataloge request.

wow I like those alot more than the chrome ones. Still not a big fan of the double-tube bumpers but much better than chrome!

thanks alot for the help with posting the pics. i dont have a clue when it comes to computers. im not a huge fan of the double tubes either, but i love the finish on these bumpers...plus, the price is awsome. almost half as much as chrome! might be worth trying to warm up to the doubles.

they look pretty tight and are probably fairly strong but they sound expensive (titanium) and also I don't like that style of double tube bumper because of the poor approach departure angle, I had a set of that kind and just destroyed them on the trail.

I take it hose are just a "Titanium" color and not actually titanium which would cost about as much as a new engine.

More than that! I was looking at wedding bands, just a plain jane titanium band was like 800 bones.... could you image a whole bumper made of pure titanium? would be lite and strong as hell though.

All things considered, I'd rather have a titanium body (If money was no object!) than titanium bumpers on a jeep.

Vesties...maybe wyobabe will buy us each a set of Titainum bumpers...

my .02 they look kinda bling...

Vesties, don't get a titainum wedding band, I was looking at a titainum tension setting for my girls engagment ring, and I mentioned it to my brother (works on a fire/ems crew, and if something happens that they would need to cut the ring off, the tool that they use can not cut thru titainum, and could cause you to loose the finger. at least that's what the medical people tell me...

Personally, I don't like tube bumpers at all. If you want that look, then go for it, but I highly doubt that purdey lil' guy would last 10 mins in the rocks.

Go shorty, like this Hanson.

I think it's just a finish color. The bumpers themselves aren't titanium. They're the standard weak-a55 tube bumpers as always, just in a different color.

yes, it's just the color. They sell for like $180. I perfer the M.O.R.E. hi-clearance bumper myself

not only do you get good approach angles, they really fit the design of the jeep.

yea I know! But you are paying the same if not more for ARB and other comparable (<--is that a word?) bumpers. It is really beefy which is something else that draws me to them. When I get my wrangler this summer, I defiantely going to have to get me one of those!

But for $600.oo it does not provide nearly the protection of an ARB Bumper.

I personally don't see the need for the "hoops" like on the ARB bumpers. I like them and all but when am I going to have something big enough go over my bemper to where I would need those hoops over the bumper? I personally don't drive straight at trees and rocks. I could see the use for maybe protecting the lights from branches on trees but around here, the trails are cut pretty could so there aren't any trees in the way.

Just so you don't get me wrong, I still like the ARB, it just doesn't suit my preferences.

The ARB is not built to protect the Jeep from brush and trees, although that is a side advantage, they are built to protect you from deer and kagaroos running across the road. i don't figure there is much of a wild kangaroo problem in Florida, but I am sure you got deer problems like everyone else! yea I forgot that they were made in the outback. That makes sense.

Yea, no kangaroos around here. AS far as the deer go, I've seen maybe 5 since I started driving 4 yrs ago. Actually the last time I went home, about 2 weeks ago, I saw one just casually walk across the road during the day. It stopped half way, looked over at me then just kept going. Kinda wierd if ya ask me. Almost as if it were saying "Wassup?"
