the cleaning agents in ATF are always more...

the cleaning agents in ATF are always more effective than i think, so the filter could be NASTY after running it. watch your oil pressure in case something comes loose and clogs the filter.

have you tried the 1qt of ATF for a few miles...

have you tried the 1qt of ATF for a few miles before an oil change? drain 1qt oil, ad 1qt ATF, drive around normal for 5-10 miles ... change oil. i've seen this work a few times on engines that...
