so, it's time to replace the tires on the 'burban and I'm looking for input.
It's got 285/50/20 goodyear's on it right now.
I kinda like the Road hugger XRT's. I have had road huggers form Discount like 5 years ago and liked them, but I'm worried it's a lower end tire.
any experiance/ other recommendations?
FYI - it's a 2002 chevrolet suburban Z71. It hauls the fam, tows the jeep, does business stuff, etc.

Michelin makes good tires that last long, and are good. We have them on our family Suburban.

I didn't see any of those. What kind? do they come in 20's?

We had some Nitto 420's on our Denali. Excellent tires if you're going for 'street' tires.

those might be a little too "street" for me.

BFG recently expanded the 20" line of their ATs if you're interested in something like that...

they don't look at more street to me than those low profile Road Hugger XRT you posted. :dunno: I was going to suggest good ol' BFG AT's 'til I saw what those XRT's looked like.

I guess I want something in between.
The ATs would be too aggressive, and the 420s would be too "ricer". Sorry Jason.
I wish the 450s came in my size.

20's and street tires on a 4wd? I'll never get that one.

It'a a tow rig, doesn't make much sense taking something that big out on the trail, especially since I can take the Jeep.

I have the GoodYear Wrangler Silent Armor on my HD. I really like them. those don't come in the size you are looking for, but the Fortera Silent Armor do. My brother in law just put these on his Z71 Tahoe a few months back and really like them. Plus they have a 70k treadwear warranty.
Another thing I liked about the GoodYear tires (I am typically not a big fan of GY). Discount Tire told me GoodYear was offering a 30 day money back guarantee. If I did not like them, I could bring them back and get my money back. I ended up being really pleased with them and kept them.

I think it's the compromise I was looking for (leaning to the street side).

Michelin owns BF Goodrich, so the quality of Michelin is the same for BFG's.....choose sir :)
