Do I need to get a block heater for our Dodge truck before we go up to Colorado due to the very cold conditions?

nah, I start mine every day without one, I've plugged it in twice this winter. There's a factory block heater on our trucks, look behind the grille in between the radiator and passenger side head light, there might be a plug, and that would be the guy. I hear alot of people saying that their trucks didn't come with the cord installed. Mine did, it could be different in Tejas.

shouldn't need it. the manifold heater does a good job of heating it up in the morning, and those starters have some serious cranking power.

Heater is supposed to be standard, but the cord with the plug was optional in 05 and 06. The sticker on mine listed it as a $10 option, but if you buy the cord afterward it's somewhere between $40-$70 depending on where you go.

Got mine from the stealership for $50... Then found out cummins will ship one too you for about $15. Easy install though, comes with the little clips to hold it up and everything.
