Floor shifter conversion from 3 on the tree?

Anyone ever done this before?

My grandpa has an '80 F100 w/ the 3 spd column shifter and he's been having problems with it. I'd like to change it to a floor shifter for him next time I go out but have NO idea what to expect.

Probably need to find a donor vehicle with a floor shifter, and steal all the linkage and shifter, install in gramps truck.
