xj front ds with sye?

would an xj front drive shaft fit an xj with a chrysler 8.25 and an sye and 4 inches of lift?

the front driveshaft is longer than the stock rear so you should go to your local mechanic shop or 4wd shop and get them to measure it out exactly and if its long enough or too long for about 50 bucks you can get it cut and balanced and you will have a perfect fitting driveshaft

A stock front drive shaft w/AW4 auto is about 34". The rear is a little longer. When you go to an SYE you'd need to lenghthen your rear drive shaft even more.

seethis is what i have heard but i have heard they fit too. i think i would have to wait till i got an sye to find out i was just lookin for a way to save some cash broke as highschool student.. oh well my t-case drop will do for now i need skids and full size spare more importantly

The rear drive shaft is at least 3 inches shorter than the front. If anything, you'll have to get the front shortened if you are going to run in on the rear. Plus, I think if you are getting an SYE from RE or somewhere, that'll add like 3 more inches. I'm not sure though. I bought one at a junkyard and it is def. shorter. Cheap knows lot more about this than I do; maybe he'll ring in here soon.

well i think sye generally make it have to be longer plus lift so if thats the case i may end up doing that would it be strong enough cuz i could get away carrying one spare on the trail sounds alot better to me hmm if it does work that would be a cheap way to go

Again from what Cheap has told me, if you are asking will it be strong enough torque-wise? Yes, even stronger than the rear. If you are talking about drop-it-on-a-rock strength. No, it's not as strong.

alls i wanted to know is torque cuz i will get a real drive shaft further down the road.. but this will get me threw for an sye in a month or two
