How does this date work for everyone? It will give you a couple of weeks to get prepared and make plans. I don't know if there is anything going on out there on this weekend, but it should be pretty quiet. Last weekend there weren't very many people out there. Let me know what you think.

Thought I would throw in a couple of pics of what is out there.

Care and I will most likely go.
Worst case scenario, we will go in the TJ and park it and ride with someone else if things get crazy.
Looks like we need to get that CB hooked up too.

You should bring both Jeeps. A stock TJ still does pretty good on the trails.

Is that a stocker with a 30" tire/wheel package?

Did they have any problems? Discoed or not?
Any traction devices?
Tell me all aboot it. icon_smile_big.gif

We'll bring the TJ, the XJ is still up in the air. Shocks are supposed to be delivered today. I need to do something about that shaft though. I'm going to try my hardest to get done.

hwm3
12-30-2003, 04:39 PM
Yes that is a completely stock TJ with the 30" Wrangler GSAs. No discos, no traction devices. The only problems he had was when he got a little over confident and high centered in the mud, and tried to cross a crack that was a little too wide.

Here is the crack.

Sweet little TJ there. I want some half doors!
I'm gonna bring the TJ. We'll see how he does. I'm hoping to have my new lights and speakers mounted by then. Got my raingler grips on and tow hooks...most important for the trail. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

I checked the forecast and it says there's a 40% chance of rain on the 10th. Should we go on Sunday? I suppose since that forecast is over a week to the future it will probably be off. We can only hope!

I guess that would be a good backup plan.
I'm sure the forecast will be "updated" by then.

Guess we better leave the top and doors on just in case. sad_anim.gif

graemlins/rock.gif graemlins/rock.gif graemlins/rock.gif graemlins/rock.gif graemlins/rock.gif You're pretty much stock, correct? We'll disconnect your front swaybar and you'll be ROCKIN. The cool part about Disney is that the rocks are so course that you get HELLA traction (stop saying HELLA, Cartman!). So... even with street or AT meats you'll be golden.

It's seriously just a big old playground. We're gonna have to pack some nice lunches... or better yet... we should bring burgers and stuff and GRILL OUT THERE FOR LUNCH. That, along with beer, equals a happiness that even straight HEROIN can't top. Well... maybe. graemlins/screwy.gif graemlins/iono.gif graemlins/rotflmao.gif

Hey Razor,
CREEK!
Wanna come play? icon_smile_big.gif graemlins/evil_grin.gif
JD needs to test out his locker, and I need to get some flexidge so I can figure out if I'm going to pull a shaft or slice my tires.

(We don't have to get in the water to do that stuff, but I'm sure JD will. Just like a Retriever, can't keep em out. icon_smile_wink.gif )

At least the TJ will have some decent speakers for the trip.
Do you guys think it would be a good idea for me to remove those bumper end cap thingies on the TJ?

I really need my CB installed, but there's no way...is there...Maybe I'll try to install my lights too. This should be interesting. graemlins/squint.gif

JC
01-02-2004, 10:44 AM
Heck yeah, get them lights on.
graemlins/rock.gif
Do you know where the switches are? icon_smile_shock.gif

We can mount the CB and wire it, but just use a temp coax and antenna mount setup. Radio shack or Walmart. Heck, we could get a mag mount for the cowl area for the trip er sumthin.

LOCKER IS HERE! JC, I'll be at your place this evening with some more Guinness. We can grill out again since it's WARM... AND... NO BUGS (remember our conversation!... this is voodoo!).

I got a REAL lock-right this time... not that damn "qwik-lok" ****. The 8.8 still has a "qwik-lok" as well but it never hiccups.

Hopefully this one will be good. Gawwwd I can't wait for this wheeling trip. Perhaps we should camp out Sat-Sun????????????????????

Care's never drinking again. graemlins/drunk.gif is not a good color on me.

Babe, I don't know what the hell I'm doing on these lights, but I'll try. Do I have to screw the relay into the fire wall? I wish I had paid closer attention when you and PB were talking. graemlins/icon_banghead.gif
Is there any way that I can rig it to the bright lights temporarily. I really wanted to get that Rubi panel for the stock switches. Then again, I if I get the other panel, I can just hack this one up for the blue switch.
I'm going to use the good wire you have in your roll away if I can figure this out.
There's a first time for everything I guess.

I'm up for a run to the creek. I'll be back in Springdale by 7 or 8 tonight. It's almost a 5 hour drive back there, so I probably won't be up for anything right after I get home (including helping with the locker install graemlins/rant.gif ), but Saturday is fair game.

As far as disney, I'm up for whatever. My Heep is pretty much stock, except for the skids and stuff. I plan on taking off the front bumper (hell, I need to get started on the fab for my front bumper anyway, and this gives me a good excuse).

I don't have a CB, but I have a couple of FRS walkie talkies, and they work pretty good.

There's a first time for everything I guess. Uh, I agree with the 1st statement. icon_smile_wink.gif

The relay will have to be screwed to something. The TJ engine bay is more spacious and luxurious than that of an XJ. sad_anim.gif :) So the mounting possibilities are somewhat endless.

If you want to temp mount the switching means, we could just run a wire and toggle and like tape or velcro it to the underside of the dash er sumthin.

I'd definitely use that larger gauge wire. graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Sounds good... I'm over at JC and Care's right now cooking steak and then installing the new front locker.

What time are we wanting to all ARRIVE in Disney? 10:00? That means we need to leave by 8:15. We could probably meet at like Denny's, IHOP, McDonalds, whatever for a quick bite to eat for breakfast and then head on out.

Does anyone have a grill? Are there grills in Disney or something? We should bring some stuff to grill (chicken... hot dogs... hamburger meat...) as well as some ARKANSAS beer so we can actually have alcohol in our beverage. Oklahoma beer = just plain ethically wrong. Period.

crazy3.gif

EDIT: Once we get my locker installed tonight I will be ready for the creek. JC said he washed the TJ and XJ so he might puss out (peer pressure) BUT I'll go to the river for sure to test that locker.

yes Hogans has bathrooms and showers. He charges like $7 a night which isn't bad. also you guys might look into getting one of the trailers. he has a couple of travel trailers that he rents out for like $30 a night not sure on the price. and also has a big single wide trailer house he rents for like $50 a night. I will check the exact prices if you want me to look into them.

It legal until you get caught. no I really don't know. As for stealing I have never heard of anything getting stolen from hogans park. I mean he has a open shop there with welder, torch, lots of parts and no one ever messes with it. I will be up Sat morning if all goes to plan. I am thinking of waiting till next week to regear.

What good is that going to do you? An unloaded gun has the same value weapon-wise as a rock does.

Oklahoma recognizes Arkansas' concealed carry permit, so I'm ok.

I can weld at 300 amps while cutting with the plasma on full blast while the compressor is kicking on and while listening to the radio. And I've still got 15 amps left!

How's that?

Anyway, My S&W doesn't even have a safety, and it stays loaded with one in the chamber 24/7. I carried into the Springdale Wal-Mart a couple of days ago and seriously thought about blasting some people.

If you drive on HWY 62 towards Prarie Grove, you'll cross the Illinois River. That same body of water flows to the location off of CR 67. icon_smile_wink.gif As is flows parallel to HWY 170 for a few miles.

Razorback is in Springdale, so we'll probably catch him somewhere along the way, and eventually meet in Rogers then meet the Centerton folks... somewhere, that's where JD knows the rest of the plans... icon_smile_big.gif

Thanks Hey! Welcome!
Nah, us Arkies aren't "Jeep Nazis" (well, sortof, but not like that) icon_smile_big.gif
I'm not one to turn away a wheelin partner of any kind, kindof non-discriminatory like.
Come on and join us!
Hell, I've got a Ford that I used to wheel (resto-project on hold) and have wheeled with pretty much anything that'll move. icon_smile_wink.gif

We've been talking about where to meet and all, are you in Centerton or somewhere else?
Care and I are meeting JD at Denny's on 6th/540, that's probably where we'll pick up Biv and PB and the Mrs. (if they come).
Razorback is in Springdale, so we'll probably catch him somewhere along the way, and eventually meet in Rogers then meet the Centerton folks... somewhere, that's where JD knows the rest of the plans... icon_smile_big.gif

Now, the rest of the board might not welcome you with open arms... icon_smile_wink.gif </font>[/QUOTE]What time is the Denny's meet up? I may want to go ahead and drive down for that.....

Take 540 all the way to south Fayetteville, go over the 6th street overpass and then take the exit (I forgot the number). It's the exit that curves around and starts heading east.

You'll come to a stop light (stay in the left lane) and there will be a liquor store and stuff. Take a left and head north on School st.

Take a right on 24th Street and go all the way to the top of the hill, once you crest the hill you'll take your first right on Ravenswood Lane, then immediately take a left on Club Oak. First house on the right.

You have some ideas? I don't want a big honk'n tuffy box up there, so a metal bracket/mount was what I was looking for.
What kind of material should I get for it?
I also need to exchange that sheet of galv metal for normal stuff...for the speaker plates. That's not important though.

Like that would tie into the bar and windshield or the other way?
Hhhhhmmmmm...
Wouldn't take TOO long either, would it?

What kind of material should I get for it?
I also need to exchange that sheet of galv metal for normal stuff...for the speaker plates. That's not important though. And I was just at Lowes again. sad_anim.gif

Yeah, I was just playin. We're going. (Although my clutch is acting VERY weak. Maybe it'll fry once and for all and I'll slap in a NV3550. icon_smile_big.gif maybe? graemlins/iono.gif ) Hell, I drove last time with a 4" lift and 31s AND NO RAILS... graemlins/squint.gif It's much more prepared this time. graemlins/grinyes.gif

JD, I have all the faith that you will get my rails done with plenty of time to spare. I may not get them painted, but they'll be there lookin pretty. icon_smile_big.gif I'll probably shoot some primer on for ya.

Care, what do you think about a thin gauge metal console for your CB and a small switch panel as well? I was thinking that it could be pretty integrated looking.

Um, ok. I trust you. I can't visualize it, but it sounds good. :) As long as it stays pretty small and out of the way. I have a feeling I'll smack my head on it eventually, but it's better than the back of the console, in the floor, or drilling a hole through a brand new dash graemlins/cry.gif .

Switch panel.
graemlins/brows.gif

Damn, what about a Pipe holder? icon_smile_big.gif

Would the switch panel be blank, then able to add switches at ones leisure?
She has one switch at the moment, count them, yes, one. icon_smile_big.gif

I'll have to make some $$$ first.
