I didnt believe him at first until I actually drove it for myself. We had just gotten done with the brakes on the thing, and took it out for a test drive. starts to shake at 55mph, im thinking front wheels, he has the upgraded wheel package on the thing and its got the M-series wheels. (Claims he hit some ones muffler that fell off of their car a while back and its shook ever since.) It has had alignments since but never fixed the problem. I told him to swap over to his winter rims before getting into the suspension parts.

Anyone ever take a look at the front end on these things? They are pretty slick and still run single piston calipers! And they stop on a dime! with 9cent change. They also have air ducts that cool the rotor that come in from the front air dam, and through the dust shield to cool the rotors. really slick design!!!

on that type of car i would think it has nothing to do with the suspension ( if a proper alignment has been done) and it most likely is the wheel being bent outa shape. If the alignment was done without checking the a-arms, one of them could be bent.

Yeah that car really doesnt have A arms.. 2 seperate control arms that connect to the spindle. Its a really odd setup, but then again im pretty much only familiar with that of 4wd's.

But yeah, the wheels were my first suspect.

thats a normal a arm setup isnt it? i had a car that i put into one of those cement barriers at !110 kph (well the wheel hit it) after that the lower a arm was fawked!!! an it was shaken like crazy at 80kph &up, sorry for the metric speed

kind of not really... Its a real odd setup, almost like our control arms but it has a seperate arm for each that attach to the spindle and no upper arms, just the 2 lowers. Really a crazy setup but it works and is super stable... I understand that the bushings go bad on them all the time, but the shake feels more like a wheel than anything.

so the arm must be solid where they connect to the spindle right ( i mean no pivot point)

I dont believe so, FWIR it has bushings on both ends, fram end and spindle end.

From what he said the bushing on the frame end is known to go bad, and cause such a problem. But since the problem started after he hit the muffler on the road I am assuming its the wheel thats bad.

It's a strut setup, there is no upper arm. Get the wheels checked first before replacing any suspension parts.

He needs the bushings for the thrust arms.

you can pickup the whole arms w/ bushings and balljoints for 100 a pair on ebay. Easy as heck to install, took me about 40 minutes to do both sides.

(I put the 7 series bushings on my 5 series, it had DW)
