View Full Version : 2000 Denali alarm issues

So the factory alarm keeps randomly going off and I have no idea how to make it stop. I didnt get any sleep last night and I was too lazy to unhook the battery. Anybody know what causes this?

I don't know if this helps, but with my ZJ if the alarm goes off I unlock the back lift gate and this disables the alarm:dunno:

hmmm........I guess I just gotta keep the alarm off...........I wonder if I lock the doors with the door lock switch if the alarm will still be enabled? I hate leavin it unlocked

I know with both my Durango and the ZJ, if I lock the doors with door lock switch the alarm sets. After the alarm is set if I unlock and lock the lift gate with the key it disengages the alarm. Give that a try.

My dad's old 98 ranger used to do that. turns out it was the door button (the one where you open the door and the light on the inside turns on). It would think the door was opened and since the alarm wasn't deactivated, it would go off. Not sure if Yukons had those.

My XJ has done it ever since I got it, its a pain in the *** so I don't have a horn now, otherwise it would randomly start honking in the middle of hte night, or when i'm on vacation, etc

Ya know, that sounds like it may be an issue. Ive been having a problem where the dome light wont turn off so I gotta keep the "dome over ride" switch on or else the interior lights will stay on constantly. I'll have to look into that. Thanks :thumbsup:

sounds like a doorswitch or a rear gate problem my 'lade has the tailgate and rear glass and Ive had no problemsmy buddies denali has the rear double doors and he had alarm problems for awhile not sure how he fixed it i will ask him. which rear do you have?
