Either the D60 or the Sterling 10.25.....but I also dont know when it came out.

So, either way it's a good candidate for a rear in my CJ??

Count the number of bolts on the cover. If it has 10 bolts it's a D60, if it has 12 it's a Sterling 10.25. It won't be a D70 if it was a 3/4 ton.

The Sterling would be more favorable since the axles do not have to be removed to pull the drums and is a bit stronger . They were used from 83-97. It also has no carrier break like the Dana axles do. Parts are plentiful for each. Both would be fine for a CJ.

What kind of 3/4 Ford? 4x4?

Yep, 4x4. I *think* it had a 351 in it, but I'm not sure. It was the old farm truck, which we scrapped, but I kept the axle. Didn't go out there today so no bolt count, but I think either way it'll be fine for a CJ on 36's or so. When I find a front axle I'll gear 'em to match.

Thanks for all the info.

I had an '84 3/4 ton, and it had a D60 rear, therefore I would think yours would be a D60 also. The D60 will have alot more gearing and locker options than the 10.25.
