I got a SuperLift 3" Suspension Lift Add a leaf kit that came with their shocks. My Sister and Dad say it rides way better that her stock 92 XJ Larado. I have now got a Custom 4X4 bumper on the rear and it has droped some so looking to upgrade the spring packs later. Wouldn't go with superlift again b/c their kits are miss leading. Had to buy Adj. Track bar to level out my font end and also to kill the Deathwobble. I guess it is the springs for the fornt that they use kinda in the middle of soft and hard. Still it rides better than stock.

It's not just the springs, the control arm angles have a lot to do with ride too. At stock the CA's are roughly horizontal when the suspension is at rest. So when the suspension flexes (up or down) the CA's only have to move in the appropriate direction (up or down) and in an arc away towards the rear. WIth taller springs the CA's will be angled down when at rest. This means that during up travel of the suspension the CA's must move up and in a forward arc (until they reach the stock horizontal point when they begin moving in a rearward arc). This is fighting against the motion of the vehicle since the axle will have to move slightly forward as it travels upward. Longarms or drop brackets will help to keep the CA's horizontal when the suspension is at rest giving a closer to stock ride. Also remember that a suspension works together, all the CA's, trac bar, springs and shocks. A good place to start might be finding out what the spring rate of stock XJ springs are then find a lift spring that is close to that. If that doesn't work then I'd look at drop brackets or longarms. And if nothing works, then the only way to get the like stock ride that you want is with stock suspension.
