So I got home last night and thought to myself "looks like my parking lights are on", but then I looked again and convinced myself it was just cause of the lights in the parking lot.

WRONG.

**Cliffs at bottom**

So then I went to get into it and go to the store today and the car wouldnt start, battery was completely dead. Then I got to the store and the chime kept going even though my keys were out and my lights were "off". When I got back to my car I saw that my parking lights never turned off, and half an hour after the first one, I had to get another jump, this time from a ditsy HS girl who had one of those booster boxes in her car, but never bothered charging it after her dad gave it to her....

I tried pulling fuses, but in the Tracer there's not a fuse for parking lights, just brakes and hazards (neither did the trick).

Anybody ever have this problem with these things. Pretty much every other problem I've had with the car I've heard of others having, but not this. I have my battery disconnected right now as a temporary fix. Unless its easy, I don't have the tools or place to fix it myself up here at school. So, does anybody ahve any ideas (again, headlight switch is in the Off position).

**CLIFF NOTES**

Parking lights don't turn off either by the switch, with the ignition, or pulling fuses. Battery is now disconnected. Anybody have an idea? I'm pretty sure its just my switch has gone bad.

All marker lights are on, front and back?

Try snipping the wire at the switch and control it manually to see if it works and such.

Blaine, sorry I missed your post, I was gone for a few days...I had the car home and switched out before I saw your post.

But, end result, my whole electronics on my steering column need to be replaced. Its a $400+ switch on a car worth $250 (tax value). So the guy at the shop we take our cars to who wants it (its a '92, no computer, simple engine, etc....) is gonna get a switch off a junker and replace it under the condition that in August the title switches to his name.

Well, wouldn't that be considered a total loss if you took it to the insurance?

Then as mentioned, you could buy a cheap Jeep or whatever :roflmao: :roflmao:
