Hey im just wondering how old every1 is. Im fricken 16 years of age, and i am a broke ***. I have no job yet lol. The money i get gets put into my XJ.
I'm 18 and in college, so i'm in the same situation with the money. Of course all my money still goes for my xj! I just can't wait till next summer to make the big bucks icon_smile_big.gif and then I can really start building her up again!

10-06-2002, 06:59 PM
Todd, you ever gonna try to switch her to a 4x4? Or just keep her as a 2x4? oh ya, and p.s. i'm 18 as well, and I'm real cute too.
lol...naaa I'm already in a relationship, sorry! About the jeep, no i'm just going to keep it 2wd. I hardly go offroad anymore and i don't have time now that im in college. I still go down a few trails ever now and then (and of course hop curbs, ditches, and front yards), but not enough where i would need 4wd. I know many people think it's a waste of money to put all that into 2wd but i'm perfectly happy w/ my current situation and see no reason for change. I would just end up having more problems if i did change it anyway.

Well...I'm 23...I graduated college last Jan. I thought once I got out I'd have the money to go buy a jeep and mod her out. Well I got the first part. I bought a used XJ then the college loans came, along with the apt and such and halted any quick plans I had of moding out my jeep. So be forewared all of you young college jeepers.....Dont get in any type of debt till those loans come due..if you have them. If you're lucky enough not to, the more power to you and could you loan me a couple grand with no intrest? icon_smile_big.gif icon_smile_big.gif

Oh man, this hurts - BAD! Let's just say that it would take 2-3 of you together to equal me.
(well, my age that is!!) Heck, with their regular maintenance, I think that I've got a couple cars that probably got their last oil change before some of you were born. (got to get around to doing those some day!)
Let's just say that next month I have my third major event "over the hill" birthday party. I was a bit young, but I watched the Beetles on the Ed Sullivan show live. Yea, it's depressing, but passing another decade is better than the alternative. Besides, birthday party is a weekend of off-roading in the desert. alternative. I asked my wife for either that or a night with a blond, brunette, and redhead. She figured I could probably handle the off-roading better - good choice, I'd like to see the NEXT decade pass too.
But then again, a guy I've off-roaded with some is in his 80's, and can still put away Bushmills and drink me under the table, and be on the trail at 7:00 the next morning! There IS hope for all of us!

I'm 21, have money sometimes, but it doesn't last long. I go to UMASS-Lowell, but I think I am gonna transfer to Amherst next semester. My jeep is good cause I spend money on it in the summer when I am working and have loot, and then just don't fix anything until summer, if anything goes! Knock on wood. My tranny is out right now, waiting on the seal. Right now I am borrowing the X's XJ. I am amazed at the amount of tire you can lay down with 215's. I usually have to be a little heavy on the gas with my 31's, and like to just chirp em around corners, but if you do that with 215's they roast. Everyone should have a set of 215's.

21 over here at UF. XJ is sitting in the driveway waiting for me to get the nss switch all the way on. It sure came off a lot easier. graemlins/icon_banghead.gif Looks like its time to bring out the bike to get me around town. Any of you other UF people wheel around here? Nate your roast doesn't compare to the one i did.
For ****s and giggles, i welded my old rear (before installing my 44) threw on a set of 225's and headed off to the dragstrip.
I took off the exhaust at the collector and bolted on a straight sidepipe that i made out of scraps (3" muhfuggah)
Backed it up into the bleach box, pulled out, mashed it and let them howl. I felt like John Force icon_smile_big.gif ground one down until it blew up all over the place (the shower of sparks from the belts wis pretty cool), and as soon as it hit the ground, both rear axleshafts snapped simultaneously. (that rear had 4.10 gears too. my fastest run before that run was 15.1 sec)
oh yeah, an i'm 19, in college and i've got money (about 3 bucks) all my extra money has been spent on the XJ, which is sitting about 500 miles away at home.
wonder if my dad is getting sick of signing for boxes full of Jeep parts.
