I have a 2000 Ram 1500 4x4, I'm looking to get somewere around a 4-6" lift for it. I don't know anything about the kits out there for them. Whats the best value out there? I've searched around, and havn't been impressed so far. Any recomendations? Thanks.

Friend of mine has a 95 Ram 1500. Put in a BDS 5". He wasn't impressed with the rear part of the lift. It came with new extended shackle brackets, but they would NOT clear his trailer hitch. He ended up having to notch both the new brackets and the hitch. Pretty stupid considering the majority of these trucks have hitches. Those damn brackets were also a ***** to line up :p

my friend has a 2000 dodge ram 1500 and he put a skyjacker 6" lift in it and he loved it until he hit black ice and hit a snowbank and tipped it onto its side and flattening the whole side and cracking his tono cover... but he loved his lift he said he got it for like 1100$

Why the hell did you buy a nice comfy DD only to lift it? Doesn't that totally defeat the purpose? Don't get me wrong, I get the desire to build the crap out of my truck daily, but it just doesn't make sense to do that to a DD. It's taking away the exact things that make it a better DD than the Heep. Plus it'll be worse for towing if you do all that too.
To answer your question, I'm not a fan of Skycrapper stuff, but they seem pretty popular for these trucks. You could always use 3" coil spacers and offroad or 3/4 ton spacers for about 5" front lift if you're piecing stuff together for cheap. Longer CAs and shocks and a new track bar set up will finish off the front, and you've got some options for the rear.....New leafs, drop mounting brackets, shackle flip, blocks, etc.

A friend of mine lifted his 96 Ram with a 4" Trailmaster lift IIRC. He liked it, ran TSL 36s with it. That truck got stolen so he got a 2000 Ram. Put a 5" Skyjacker lift in and ran 35s because the Trailmaster lift cleared the tires better then the Skyjacker.
