fiber glass tubs, which one ?

I am going to purchase an old CJ 5 or 7. Most of the ones I'm looking at have fiberglass tubs. My question is, which companies made good ones vs. junk ?, and how do I I.D. what I'm looking at ? Any advice would be appreciated...

AJ's and Shell Valley are the 2 major ones. Shell Valley IMO is better, they have better body mount points. AJ's has the best hard tops even for a Scrambler. When I buy a Scrambler I'm gonna get the full hard top from AJ's.

i owned a 75 CJ5 with a glass tub for a couple years, and more importantly than the construction, you NEED a roll cage. I can't even tell you how dangerous those things are, especially without a forward bar. If you get in an accident and flip, think about it. The 2 "hard points" between you and the ground are the top of the factory roll bar and the intake on the engine. Now think of the windshield and everything else that has to fit with you in that space when it all gets crushed up at you. And how often are you going to get in an accident on perfectly level ground? You need a full cage, with tubes up along the dash and windshield. REINFORCE the cowl area. Weld up either a bull guard for the front (one of those tall hoop front bumpers) or do the same under the hood where the radiator mounts. If you do the later, tie that in with the reinforced cowl. If you need to have a stock look, then go with a replacement steel tub. They still aren't the safest, but they will hold up better than a glass one.

KEVLAR !! Good enough to stop a bullet, I do think they make a full tub, I do know they make a front clip,Fenders and such, cuold be worth looking into.

kevlar will stop punctures, but it will still bend. and i doubt the tubs are as thick as my flack vest, which still bends around my body.
