does anyone know how hard it would be to take a 2wd dodge dakota and make it 4wd?? i know i would have to add a t-case and a solid front axle (what axle could i use??) but what could i use for the steering and all that?? let me know what u think...thanks
what up travis, you'd have to change transmisisons to a 4x4 one with an adapter for a T-case, and also one that will bolt right up. solid axel i'd say probably a Dana 30, might have to refabricate the transmission crossmember. Steering i'd say go with crossover, best design setup and junk
You would also have to think if you want leaf springs in front (easiest to do) or coils, or 4 link or whatever. I'm puttin leaf springs on my s10 from a 85CJ, and it woudl be the best if you used springs with the same spring rate. Although with leafs you might have a bit ofa stiffer ride than coils
