yellow top vs red top. what's the main difference and why do i care what color it is? i know it has to do with amps and all that, but what's gonna be best to hook up? all that i have runnin are 4 lights, a 130amp alternator, a big 'ol stereo, and a winch. gonna go get one today, so what you guys got on these?

The red top is fine for what you have. My next project (after I get my bumper on) is a dual battery set up for my XJ. But, I'm gonna go with the 3 cell Optima for space saving and for accessories it is the max I want. I did this in my TJ and regret never taking it out for my XJ.

I'd say you only need the yellow top if you're going to be running accessories for a long time with the engine off. And that should be as a second battery; you don't want to risk killing it when it's your only way to start.

And 1XJ2NV what exactly is the 3 cell optima? Is it on the website(optima's)? How big is it? I'm wanting to run dual batts in my XJ also and space is indeed a premium.

It's just as long, just as tall, and half as wide as a regular.
