Looking into maybe buying this rear bumper for my YJ. Just wondering what you all thought of the design. I'm not a welder and I don't fab up my own stuff, so thats why I'm asking. Anyone see any problems with the design or integrity of it? I'm a little sketchy on the way it mounts to the Jeep. It looks like it only uses the 4 holes where the bumperettes mount. How strong would those be?

If it only uses those bolts I would run away from it like the plague. I had a smittybuilt tube bumper on my YJ that mounted stronger than that.

I'm not an expert on YJs but I don't know about that mounting graemlins/iono.gif
It doesn't look like you'd want to use those shackle mounts for any kind of recovery

I guess my suspicion of the mounting location was right. I'm glad I asked before I bought it. I'm looking for a bumper similar to this only with better mounting points. Any suggestions?

cut the tabs off use solid spacers and drill thru the bumper and thru bolt it...

Jeeperman bumpers have a solid mounting system and there decently priced. Also Expedition One is supposed to be Releasing theres in a few months, but if your looking for cheeper than warn, sad to say but your best bet might be making your own.
