Mine were doing that too. I found out the fluid reservoir was pretty low, and once that was filled up, it was fine.
I think its time again though :/

just adjust the rear shoes, if a pedal feels spongy but the brakes catch halfway than 90% of the time thats what it is. it has fixed that problem on 2 of my cars in the past year. when your adjusting check your wheel cylinders to make sure they arent leaking. if they arent and you adjust the shoes and it is still squishy than bleed the brakes. if it still squishy than replace the MC. if for some reason it is still squishy than the only thing left is the brake booster.

if the pedal depress to easily and goes all the way down check the fuild but that all i can think of besides ajudting the shoes thats already been stated

I wholeheartedly conccur with adjusting the rear shoes. Jeep drums suck. Period. I've had to adjust mine on my '97 since the day I bought it, once every two weeks. Yep. You read correct. Every 2 weeks.
The shoes are SUPPOSED to self-adjust; they don't. You've gotta pull the lower rubber bung and give the ratcheting adjuster a few clicks. You're supposed get the rear in the air, pull the wheels off, etc... I don't. After a while, you get a feel for how much to click the adjuster with the car on the ground.
I'm still waiting for the day someone offers rear disc conversions for the Chrysler 8.25 rear. (No, I don't want to swap to custom axles, a Ford 8.8 etc.)
