Installation date: 3/5/00 When outfitting your Jeep for serious off-roading, one of the things that is often missed is protection for your differentials. Sure, you put on skid plates for your gas tank, transfer case, and even transmission, you install rocker guards and heavy-duty bumpers, but what about your differential covers? The front diff is the lowest part of the vehicle and it faces forward, making it the perfect target for rocks. Smack one of those into a rock hard enough and you could ruin the gears in your axle. I've managed to scrape my diff covers on a few occasions, nothing that would cause damage to the gears so far, but I don't want to take any chances in the future. I'd been looking at the diff guard from the Four X Doctor for a while, and when I found a used one for sale I jumped at the chance.
